The fine print
- What this compares. Your current average power bill of $222 a month against your solar loan payment over 25 years. The utility is escalated at 7.5% per year. The loan payment does not escalate, it is fixed at $395.56 for months 1 to 36 and $545.65 for months 37 to 300.
- Your Illinois SRECs are included. The proposal estimates $16,754 in Illinois SRECs, which are yours because you own the system. That amount is added to the savings total above. The monthly loan payments shown are the schedule as written, so this is money you receive on top of them. SREC values are estimates and depend on the program, your production and reporting.
- Still connected to the grid. You are still connected to the utility grid and would be expected to pay a small fixed monthly rate, considered the standard connection fee.
- This is an estimate, not a contract. Production, rates and savings are projections. Nothing here is a guarantee.
